Business Education Overview:
The business education department first meets all students in grade 8 with a three-month introductory business course. Then, in grade 9, students may enrol in Keyboarding 9 to enhance their computer skills or in Web 10 where they learn html, CSS, Photoshop, and many Web 2.0 applications. Grade 9s may also join grade 10s in Business Ed 10, a course that offers activities in marketing, entrepreneurship, and economics.
Planning 10 students who like Photography and Photoshop can take the half-year course called Digital Imagery 10. Senior students with eyes on post-secondary commerce degrees look to Accounting 11, Financial Accounting 12, and Economics 12 for a head start on their future post-secondary competitors. Marketing 11 and 12 are also popular choices that get the added benefit of school store involvement.
Business Computer Applications 11 ensures students gain a competency in Microsoft Office that is far above their peers. And finally, Hamber students have a long-history in excelling in electronic graphic design. The courses to take if you want to enhance your graphic appeal with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign are Electronic Design and Publishing 11 and 12. The EDP 12 students are also responsible for commercially publishing the Hamber Newsletter three times per year.
